At left is a K-2 #203 train crew with Engineer J T 'Thad Harrison in the middle with Fireman ?? Barker to his left. If you know any of the others, please let me know.
That's J T 'Thad' Harrison in front of K-2 #208 at Cumberland at right
possibly getting ready for a run down to Elkins. Below is the nice
little story that goes with the pictures.
My grandfather is the one in the middle of 5 of them.
Barker his fireman is on Pops left. One of those men
may be C. B. Wilcox who worked out of Elkins, WV.
I know that our family had the most beautiful, and largest
Christmas trees every year, because Pop would bring them back from
Elkins on the train. We could hardly keep the tree on the car for the
ride home, it was so big, sometimes we had to get a friends truck.
Always had to cut the top out of the tree, 3-4 ft. They were the "Good
Old Days" all gone by now!
Charlie, I hope this project you have taken on turns out to be
just the way you want it to be. I'm glad I could be of some help. I'm
very proud to let people know about my grandfather JT Harrison, and his
job on the Western Maryland Railroad. Judy Briner
